All the Light We Cannot See is told in almost short chapters, and constantly cuts back and forth between two main characters: Werner Pfennig, a young German boy with an aptitude for radio engineering, and Marie-Laure LeBlanc, a young, blind French girl who excels at reading and studying science. The story is told un-chronologically, but the timeline is simplified for the purposes of this. Here are just a few things to remember about lighting: Poorly lit rooms seem small and murky. Rooms with undersized or under-powered fixtures can look much smaller than they really are.   In When Changing Nothing Changes Everything, Laurie Short has offered us a concise, accessible guidebook that provides not only helpful instruction but—more importantly—hope for how a proper vision of the life we have can lead to the very world of goodness and beauty for which we long so deeply. Read this book—and see your life change.
